Symbol: The symbol of the group was
created by one of the founders,
Anderson Akio Sanoki, A.K.A. Tatu (armadillo),
that sadly, died in a car accident in Japan, where he was working
in 1993.The group added his signature, in his memory, to the
symbol of the group. Tatu is still alive in our memories, he was
a great artist and loved to drawn, mainly pictures of monsters
and skulls, but the symbol of the group was the best thing he
could had left for us. It is a piece of him that is still among
us, keeping his memories alive.
Ideology:
There are no especial
requirements to become a member of the Esquadrilha da Fumaça. We
are a very democratic group, perhaps the only group of
motorcyclists, where the member can have any kind of motorcycle.
We have members that have from small motorcycles (Hondas CG 125cc)
to the ones with big motorcycles (like the Kawasaki Vulcan 1500cc
and Harley Fat-boy), we also have all styles of bikes, super
sports, cruisers, on/off roads, tricycle, all riders united only
by the love of riding on two wheels. Also we come from different
professional backgrounds, like: Doctors, businessmen, painters,
civil engineers, Ceos, mechanic, electricians, motor boys (pizza
delivery on bikes), notaries publics, helicopter pilot, mason,
etc
The favorite singer/performer is
Raul Seixas, and
whenever is possible all the group ride together to events like,
races, camping, family dinner, motorcycle gatherings, we don't
need any reason in particular to get together, the love for
motorcycle is enough to keep the group united.
Trip: Our hobby is motorcycle
traveling, mainly for Bike events, since some of the integrants
don't live in Paranavai anymore, the group only travels together
to the most import ants events like: Serra Negra in August, where
happens the Megacycle, this one the group attends religiously
every year. This year the Megacycle event will be held in
Garaguatatuba Beach, and we have already confirmed our presence.
In the past 15 years the group have traveled together to the
beaches, some cities in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, Sao
Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, the whole State of Parana, part of
Paraguay and Argentina. The group also promotes some motorcycles
competitions.
Final thought: If some day on the open roads or in any motorcycle events you come across someone with a black leather jacket, with the Esquadrilha da Fumaça symbol on its back, you can be sure that you are looking at a happy, fun fellow that loves the freedom that riding on two wheel give, and also enjoys making friends with other motorcyclists.
